✅ Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)
- A non-Chinese citizen in good physical and mental health.
- Master’s: a Bachelor’s degree, and not older than 35.
- PhD: a Master’s degree, and not older than 40.
- Graduating in 2027? You can apply with a pre-graduation certificate showing that you will get your degree by July 2027.

📄 Documents Required
- Academic transcripts. PhD applicants need both Bachelor’s and Master’s transcripts.
- Highest degree certificate, or a pre-graduation certificate if you graduate in 2027.
- Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors at your last university.
- Language certificate: HSK (Chinese-taught) or IELTS/TOEFL/Duolingo (English-taught).
- Personal statement (use NJU’s template).
- Physical examination report on NJU’s form (results from the last 6 months).
- Passport first page.
- Non-criminal record (issued within the last 6 months).
- PhD only: the abstract of your Master’s thesis.
- Architecture & Urban Planning only: a portfolio of your work.
- Optional: a list of publications and sample papers or abstracts.
Any document that is not in English or Chinese needs a notarized translation.
📝 How to Apply (Step by Step)
- Register on the NJU application system at nju.17gz.org and choose “CSC Scholarship Type B” as the program type.
- Upload all your documents and submit before 20 January 2027.
- Check your email and system messages. NJU replies within 3 working days. If they ask you to re-upload something, fix it before the deadline.
- Wait for the department review (late February). Results come in the first half of March.
- Receive your NJU pre-admission letter. PhD applicants also receive their personal statement signed by a supervisor.
- Apply on the CSC portal at studyinchina.csc.edu.cn before 17 March 2027, using Agency No. 10284 and Program Type B. Upload your NJU letter (PhD: plus the signed personal statement).
- Wait for the final CSC decision (around May), then come to NJU in September with your admission notice, JW201 form, medical report and original degree.

📌 Rules for Scholarship Students
- You must study full-time on campus. No distance learning, and no transfer to another university.
- You cannot leave during the semester (for visits, internships and so on) without permission. Holidays are fine.
- Every year from March to May, there is an annual review. If you fail it, your scholarship can be suspended or cancelled.
