- You must pass the annual review each year to keep the scholarship for the next year.
- For CSC students, tuition, the dormitory and the stipend are suspended if you can’t study on campus.
📝 How to Apply (Step by Step)
For CSC High-Level & Silk Road (Type B)
- Choose your PhD program on the BUCT Doctoral Programs page, and contact a BUCT professor in your field (recommended).
- Apply on the BUCT system at study.buct.edu.cn. Register, activate your account and fill in the application.
- Apply on the CSC system at studyinchina.csc.edu.cn. Choose Type B and enter Agency No. 10010.
- Submit both before the deadline: 28 February 2027 (High-Level) or 15 May 2027 (Silk Road).
For the BUCT Presidential Scholarship
- Register and activate an account at study.buct.edu.cn.
- Fill out your application online and upload your documents.
- Submit before June 2027. BUCT evaluates your application from the documents you submit.

🏛️ CSC Type A (Through Your Embassy)
You can also apply for the CSC scholarship through the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your home country (bilateral program):
- Apply through your country’s dispatching authority, usually between November and April.
- On the CSC form, choose Type A and put Beijing University of Chemical Technology (10010) as your first choice.
- Ask your Chinese Embassy for your country’s exact dates.

BUCT’s scholarship page doesn’t list the documents. These are the standard documents for Chinese Government Scholarship PhD applications. Check the BUCT system for its exact list.
- Passport information page. Details must match exactly.
- Master’s degree certificate (notarized), or a pre-graduation certificate
- Bachelor’s and Master’s transcripts
- Language certificate (IELTS/TOEFL for English-taught, HSK for Chinese-taught)
- Study or research plan (usually at least 1,000 words)
- Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors
- Acceptance letter from a BUCT professor Highly recommended
