- Degree and graduation certificates: Master’s applicants need their Bachelor’s; PhD applicants need both Bachelor’s and Master’s. Scans of originals, with a notarized translation if not in English or Chinese.
- Fresh graduates: an expected graduation certificate (degree before 31 August 2027)
- Full transcripts from Bachelor’s onwards, sealed by your university
- Language certificate: IELTS/TOEFL, HSK 5, or English-medium proof
- Two recommendation letters from associate professors or above (or senior professionals in a related field)
- Personal statement of 1,000+ words covering your background, research, study plan and future goals
- Research achievements: a list and abstracts of your papers Optional
- Passport information page (plus Chinese visa pages if you’ve been to China), valid after September 2027
- Non-criminal record issued within the last 6 months
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form in English, within 6 months (keep the original)
📝 How to Apply for the SDNU CSC Scholarship
- Get an acceptance letter. Contact the relevant SDNU college (school) yourself to get the pre-admission letter. See SDNU’s “Acceptance Letter Procedure” on its official website.
- Apply on the CSC portal at CampusChina.org (or csc.edu.cn/studyinchina). Enter the SDNU agency number 10445 correctly.
- Upload all documents online. No paper documents need to be posted.
- Wait for SDNU’s review. Nominated candidates get an email asking them to register on the SDNU International Student Service System.
- Final CSC decision. The CSC reviews the nominated candidates and approves the final list. SDNU then sends admission documents to the winners.

⚠️ Important Rules
- No double scholarships. You can’t receive another Chinese government or university scholarship at the same time (one-time awards are allowed). If you hide one, you must return the money and you’re banned for 3 years.
- Annual review: after your first year, your studies, attitude, attendance and conduct are reviewed every year. Failing it cancels your scholarship.
- No change of major after admission, except in special cases approved under CSC rules.
